My Disney's "Cars" 2nd Birthday Party Thoughts

It's that time of year again! My little peanut is about to turn 2, and we're planning his party again! We decided that this year, the theme will be the Disney movie "Cars". That's because M loves the McQueen Car character. Oddly enough, he's never actually seen the movie, but he loves when he happens to see a commercial for the movie, and we have gotten him some toys and clothing with the Cars characters on them which he adores. He'll point at them and scream "CARS! CARS!" So it was pretty much a no-brainer this year.

Last year, his Moose and Zee party was a big hit. It was a bit difficult to find Moose and Zee party favors for some reason, which ticked me off initially, but we just ended up being creative - bought balloons, printed out decorations, and hung them up everywhere. This year, it'll be soo much simpler. I did a quick search on Disney's "Cars" party supplies, and there were TONS of affordable stuff on www.amazon.com! So I'm going to order ("Cars" inspired):

Happy Birthday banner
Plastic Cups
Napkins
Plastic Table Covers
Party Bags
Party Favors
Cake Toppers

I also plan on buying yellow and red helium balloons. We also have a family friend who is planning on being the entertainment by singing kiddie songs and playing the guitar. The only thing I'm working on is what party games will be appropriate for the span of ages there. We'll have a 4 month old, 2 year old, 3 year olds, 4 year olds, and a 7 year old. Any suggestions? How have you (or how would you) plan a 2 year old's party?

  1. Cute cute cute! We are actually not having a party this year for N. Her 1st birthday party was so big and so much work that we hardly got to spend time together, just the three of us. So, this year, we're taking her to the aquarium and out to a special birthday lunch, just the three of us. I can't tell you how excited I am about it!

  2. We had Sophie's party last weekend. The guests ranged from 2-5, so I was at a loss with what to do for an activity that wasn't to "babyish" for the big kids, but still easy for Birthday Girl. Then I found coloring-page banners at Party City, and a bucket of crayons. Done! :)
Love the Cars party - my friend's son had a Cars party a couple years ago and it was fun. she had the movie showing on a TV during the party, too, for when kids needed a rest from the games.
